Michelle Records

Michelle Records was founded in 1977 and has become an institution for music lovers in Hamburg and beyond. Beneath tons of (indie-) records there's also regular in-store gigs. Definitely always worth a visit if you are around. the people running the shop took it over when the former founder filed insolvency and they did not want 'their' shop and history to disappear. it's a hamburg piece of music culture, made of passion and personal taste and if you're lucky maybe german comic artist line hoven (www.linehoven.de) will play some nice tunes for you.

Rave Up Records

morr music has a long history to begin a new story in vienna. in 1999 the label, in 2001 the single series both initiated with releases by b.fleischmann from vienna, if you don't know yet. to make it even more personal here: the shop is a ten minutes walk away from mr fleischmann's home and after having breakfast close to viennas 'naschmarkt' this is usually our first stop whenever visiting the city. in the past couple years more often accompanied by a young lady you can see in the picture, too.
RAVE UP is a well sorted place, the kind you don't find so often anymore. well actually we start this series to proof the sentence wrong! if you´re buying records with the same passion as we do, you might understand the profusion in talking to the same friendly people for more than ten years, who can still surprise you with one or the other hidden treasure every time you enter the shop. RAVE UP is the place where b.fleischmann was socialised with good independent music. he probably spent more money on music in RAVE UP than in all the bars in his city. trust us here, it means quite something in human measurements. RAVE UP has been one of our very early supporters and still is, it's not just another record shop, it's been an affair of the heart for more than 20 years! so go find some records!
talking about tradition, we should not forget to mention CAFÉ JELINEK another five minute uphill walk away, the perfect place to have some austrian STRUDEL (cake) and coffee with weird names before proceeding with some viennesian sightseeing, and just btw b.fleischmann might be able to give you a guided bookshop tour, too.
